Abu Ubaida reported, on the authority of his father Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله تعالى عنه), the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying : When you offer the prayer, and you are in doubt about the number of rak'a whether offered three or four, and you have prayed four rak'a in all probability in your opinion, you should recite tashah-hud and make two prostrations while you are sitting before giving the salutation. afterwards you should recite the tashah-hud and give the salutation again. Imam Abu Dawood said this tradition has been narrated by 'Abdul Wahid from Khusaif, but he did not report it as a statement of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). The version of 'Abdul Wahid has been corroborated by Sufyan, Sharik, and Isra'il. They differed among themselves about the text of the tradition and they did not narrate it with the continuous chain up to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم).

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہ ﷺ سے روایت کرتے ہیں ک آپ نے فرمایا: جب تم نماز میں رہو اور تمہیں تین یا چار میں شک ہو جائے اور تمہارا غالب گمان یہ ہو کہ چار رکعت ہی پڑھی ہے تو تشہد پڑھو، پھر سلام پھیرنے سے پہلے بیٹھے بیٹھے سہو کے دو سجدے کرو، پھر تشہد پڑھو اور پھر سلام پھیر دو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے عبدالواحد نے خصیف سے روایت کیا ہے اور مرفوع نہیں کیا ہے۔ نیز سفیان، شریک اور اسرائیل نے عبدالواحد کی موافقت کی ہے اور ان لوگوں نے متن حدیث میں اختلاف کیا ہے اور اسے مسند نہیں کیا ہے ۔
Abdullah bin Masood Raziallahu Anhu Rasool Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam se riwayat karte hain k aap ne farmaya: Jab tum namaz mein raho aur tumhein teen ya chaar mein shak ho jaye aur tumhara ghalib gumaan yeh ho k chaar rakat hi parhi hai to tashahhud parho, phir salaam phirne se pehle baithe baithe suhu ke do sajde karo, phir tashahhud parho aur phir salaam phir do. Abu Dawood kehte hain: Ise Abdul Wahid ne Khusaif se riwayat kiya hai aur marfoo nahi kiya hai. Niz Sufyan, Shareek aur Israel ne Abdul Wahid ki muwafqat ki hai aur in logon ne matan hadees mein ikhtilaf kiya hai aur ise musnad nahi kiya hai.
حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي صَلَاةٍ فَشَكَكْتَ فِي ثَلَاثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ وَأَكْبَرُ ظَنِّكَ عَلَى أَرْبَعٍ تَشَهَّدْتَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدْتَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَأَنْتَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُسَلِّمَ، ثُمَّ تَشَهَّدْتَ أَيْضًا، ثُمَّ تُسَلِّمُ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ، وَوَافَقَ عَبْدَ الْوَاحِدِ أَيْضًا سُفْيَانُ، وَشَرِيكٌ، وَإِسْرَائِيلُ وَاخْتَلَفُوا فِي الْكَلَامِ فِي مَتْنِ الْحَدِيثِ وَلَمْ يُسْنِدُوهُ.
