Chapter: When is cupping recommended?

باب مَتَى تُسْتَحَبُّ الْحِجَامَةُ

Sunan Abi Dawud 3861

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, if anyone has himself cupped on the 17th, 19th and 21st it will be a remedy for every disease.


Grade: Sahih

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: جو سترہویں، انیسویں اور اکیسویں تاریخ کو پچھنا لگوائے تو اسے ہر بیماری سے شفاء ہو گی ۔

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) Kehte Hain Ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Ne Farmaya: Jo Sattarveen, Unnisveen Aur Ikkisveen Tarikh Ko Pachna Lagwaye To Use Har Bimari Se Shifa Ho Gi.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنِ احْتَجَمَ لِسَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَانَ شِفَاءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاءٍ .

Sunan Abi Dawud 3862

Kabshah bint Abu Bakrah narrated that (the narrator other than Musa said that Kayyisah bint Abu Bakrah) her father used to forbid his family to have themselves cupped on a Tuesday, and used to assert on the authority of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) that Tuesday is the day of blood in which there is an hour when it does not stop.


Grade: Da'if

کبشہ بنت ابی بکرہ نے خبر دی ہے ۱؎ کہ ان کے والد اپنے گھر والوں کو منگل کے دن پچھنا لگوانے سے منع کرتے تھے اور رسول اللہ ﷺ سے نقل کرتے تھے: منگل کا دن خون کا دن ہے اس میں ایک ایسی گھڑی ہے جس میں خون بہنا بند نہیں ہوتا ۔

Kabsha bint Abi Bakrah ne khabar di hai 1{sukun} keh in ke wald apne ghar walon ko mangal ke din pichhna lagwane se mana karte the aur Rasool Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM se naql karte the: Mangal ka din khoon ka din hai is mein ek aisi ghari hai jis mein khoon bahna band nahin hota.

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرَةَ بَكَّارُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَمَّتِي كَبْشَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ غَيْرُ مُوسَى:‏‏‏‏ كَيِّسَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَاهَا كَانَ يَنْهَى أَهْلَهُ عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ يَوْمَ الثُّلَاثَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَزْعُمُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ يَوْمَ الثُّلَاثَاءِ يَوْمُ الدَّمِ وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يَرْقَأُ .

Sunan Abi Dawud 3863

Jabir ibn Abdullah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) had himself cupped above the thigh for a bruise from which he suffered.


Grade: صحیح

جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے اس درد کی وجہ سے جو آپ کو تھا اپنی سرین پر پچھنے لگوائے۔

Jaber (رضي الله تعالى عنه) Kehte Hain Ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) Ne Is Dard Ki Wajah Se Jo Aap Ko Tha Apni Sireen Par Pichhne Lagwaye.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ احْتَجَمَ عَلَى وِرْكِهِ مِنْ وَثْءٍ كَانَ بِهِ .
