Ummul Momineen Aisha (رضي الله تعالى عنها) narrated that the Apostle of Allah ( صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) recited this verse – [He (Allah) is who has sent down to you (O' Prophet ﷺ) the Book (the Quran). Some verses of it are definite in meaning (Ayaat-e-Muhkamaat). These form the mother of the Book (the basic there in) and the rest are figurative (metaphorical) (Ayaat-e-Mutashaabihaat). But they, in whose minds there is a tendency to deviate from truth, take the metaphorical (verses in their literal / textual sense) craving discord, and craving to give them their own interpretation, although none knows the reality about them except Allah. And those who make it right approach to knowledge could only say 'we believe therein all that is from our Lord'. None can catch their significance except those gifted with insight.] (Aal-i-Imran – 7). She said, the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) then said, when you see those people who follow that which is allegorical in the Quran, those are the people whom Allah has named (in the Quran). So. avoid them.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے آیت کریمہ «هو الذي أنزل عليك الكتاب منه آيات محكمات» سے لے کر «أولو الألباب» ۱؎ تک تلاوت کی اور فرمایا: جب تم ایسے لوگوں کو دیکھو جو متشابہ آیات کے پیچھے پڑتے ہوں تو جان لو کہ یہی لوگ ہیں جن کا اللہ نے نام لیا ہے تو ان سے بچو ۲؎ ۔
ummul momineen aishah ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) kehti hain ke rasul allahu salla allahu alaihi wa sallam ne aayat kareema «hu alladhi anzala alaika alkitab minhu ayata muhkamat» se le kar «awlu alalbab» 1؎ tak tilavat ki aur farmaya: jab tum aise logoon ko dekho jo mutashabih ayatin ke pichhe padte hon to jaan lo ke yahi log hain jin ka allah ne naam liya hai to in se bacho 2؎ .
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّسْتُرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، قَالَتْ: قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ: هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ إِلَى أُولُو الأَلْبَابِ سورة آل عمران آية 7، قَالَتْ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ فَأُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ سَمَّى اللَّهُ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ .
