Sunan Abi Dawud 397
Muhammad bin 'Amr bin al-Hasan reported : We asked Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) about the time of the prayer of the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم). He said: He used to offer the Zuhr prayer in the midday heat, the 'Asr prayer when the sun was bright, the Maghrib prayer when the sun had completely set, the Isha prayer early when many people were present, but late if there were few, and the Fajr prayer in the darkness (of the dawn).

محمد بن عمرو سے روایت ہے (اور وہ حسن بن علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہما کے لڑکے ہیں) وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے نبی اکرم ﷺ کی نماز کے اوقات کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے کہا: آپ ﷺ ظہر سورج ڈھل جانے پر پڑھتے تھے، عصر ایسے وقت پڑھتے کہ سورج زندہ رہتا، مغرب سورج ڈوب جانے پر پڑھتے، اور عشاء اس وقت جلدی ادا کرتے جب آدمی زیادہ ہوتے، اور جب کم ہوتے تو دیر سے پڑھتے، اور فجر غلس ( اندھیرے ) میں پڑھتے تھے۔
Muhammad bin Amro se riwayat hai (aur woh Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Talib ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a ke larke hain) woh kehte hain ke hum ne Jaber (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se Nabi Akram (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki namaz ke auqat ke mutalliq poocha to unhone kaha: Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) zuhr sooraj dhal jane par padhte the, asr aise waqt padhte ke sooraj zinda rehta, maghrib sooraj dub jane par padhte, aur isha is waqt jaldi ada karte jab aadmi ziyada hote, aur jab kam hote to der se padhte, aur fajr ghlus ( andhere ) mein padhte the.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْنَا جَابِرًا عَنْ وَقْتِ صَلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ، وَالْعَصْرَ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ، وَالْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ، وَالْعِشَاءَ إِذَا كَثُرَ النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ وَإِذَا قَلُّوا أَخَّرَ، وَالصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ .
