Sunan Abi Dawud 4917
Abu Hurairah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) narrated that the Apostle of Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) said, ‘avoid suspicion for suspicion is the most lying form of talk. Do not be inquisitive about one another, or spy on one another.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: ظن و گمان کے پیچھے پڑنے سے بچو یا بدگمانی سے بچو، اس لیے کہ بدگمانی سب سے بڑا جھوٹ ہے، نہ ٹوہ میں پڑو اور نہ جاسوسی کرو ۔
Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke Rasool Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya: Zann o guman ke peeche padne se bacho ya badgamani se bacho, is liye ke badgamani sab se bara jhoot hai, nah toh mein padho aur nah jasosi karo.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنَّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيثِ وَلَا تَحَسَّسُوا وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا .
