Sunan Abi Dawud 946
Mu’aiqib (رضي الله تعالى عنه) reported the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) as saying ; Do not remove pebbles while you are praying; if you do it out of sheer necessity, do it only once to smooth the pebbles.

معیقیب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم ﷺ نے فرمایا: تم نماز پڑھنے کی حالت میں ( کنکریوں پر ) ہاتھ نہ پھیرو، یعنی انہیں برابر نہ کرو، اگر کرنا ضروری ہو تو ایک دفعہ برابر کر لو ۔
maiqib (رضي الله تعالى عنه) kehte hain ke nabi akram salla allahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya: tum namaz padhne ki halat mein (kankriyon par) hath nah phirro, yani unhein barabar nah karo, agar karna zaruri ho to ek dafa barabar kar lo
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُعَيْقِيبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: لَا تَمْسَحْ وَأَنْتَ تُصَلِّي، فَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَا بُدَّ فَاعِلًا فَوَاحِدَةٌ تَسْوِيَةَ الْحَصَى .
