Hadith of al-Agharr al-Muzani, may Allah be pleased with him

حَدِيثُ الْأَغَرِّ الْمُزَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18291

It is narrated on the authority of 'Agharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Sometimes, rust gets on my heart as well and I seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times a day."


Grade: Sahih

حضرت اغر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا بعض اوقات میرے دل پر بھی غبار چھا جاتا ہے اور میں روزانہ سو مرتبہ اللہ سے استغفار کرتا ہوں۔

Hazrat Ugr RA se marvi hai keh Rasul Allah SAW ne irshad farmaya baz auqat mere dil par bhi ghubar cha jata hai aur mein rozana 100 martaba Allah se istighfar karta hun.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّهُ لَيُغَانُ عَلَى قَلْبِي، وَإِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِئَةَ مَرَّةٍ" .

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O people! Seek repentance from your Lord, for indeed I seek repentance from Him a hundred times a day."

حضرت اغر مزنی رضی اللہ عنہ نے ایک مرتبہ حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے یہ حدیث بیان کی کہ انہوں نے نبی کریم ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے اے لوگو! اپنے رب سے توبہ کرتے رہا کرو اور میں بھی ایک دن میں سو سو مرتبہ اس سے توبہ کرتا ہوں۔

Hazrat Ughar Mazni RA ne ek martaba Hazrat Ibn Umar RA se yeh hadees bayaan ki ke unhon ne Nabi Kareem SAW ko yeh farmate hue suna hai aye logo apne rab se tauba karte raho aur main bhi ek din mein so so martaba is se tauba karta hun.

حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْأَغَرَّ الْمُزَنِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ:" يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ تُوبُوا إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ، فَإِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ" .
