Maaz (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that once a person asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which deed is the most virtuous? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: To believe in One Allah, then Jihad, then Hajj Mabroor (accepted Hajj) - these deeds are superior to others just like the distance between the East and the West.

حضرت ماعز رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ کسی شخص نے نبی کریم ﷺ سے پوچھا کہ سب سے افضل عمل کون سا ہے؟ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا ایک اللہ پر ایمان لانا، پھر جہاد، پھر حج مبرور تمام اعمال میں اس طرح افضل ہیں جیسے مشرق اور مغرب کے درمیان فاصلہ ہوتا ہے۔
Hazrat Maaz Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki aik martaba kisi shakhs ne Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se poocha ki sab se afzal amal kaun sa hai? Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya aik Allah par iman lana, phir jihad, phir Hajj mabroor tamam amal mein is tarah afzal hain jaise mashriq aur maghrib ke darmiyan fasla hota hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ يَعْنِي الْجُرَيْرِيَّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ ، عَنْ مَاعِزٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ: أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ، ثُمَّ الْجِهَادُ، ثُمَّ حَجَّةٌ بَرَّةٌ تَفْضُلُ سَائِرَ الْعَمَلِ كَمَا بَيْنَ مَطْلَعِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَى مَغْرِبِهَا" ..
