It is narrated about a companion of Islam, may Allah be pleased with him, that he was bitten by an animal. When this was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you had said these words in the evening, 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' then nothing would have harmed you until morning." The narrator of the hadith, Suhayl, says that if any one of us was bitten by an animal, my father would ask, "Did you say these words?" If he answered, "Yes," then his opinion was that he would not be harmed.

ایک اسلمی صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ کے متعلق مروی ہے کہ انہیں کسی جانور نے ڈس لیا نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس کا تذکرہ ہوا تو آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا اگر تم نے شام کے وقت یہ کلمات کہہ لئے ہوتے " اعوذ بکلمات اللہ التامات کلہن من شر ماخلق " تو صبح تک تمہیں کوئی چیز نقصان نہیں پہنچا سکتی۔ راوی حدیث سہیل کہتے ہیں کہ اگر ہم میں سے کسی کو کوئی جانور ڈس لیتا تو میرے والد صاحب پوچھتے کہ یہ کلمات کہہ لئے؟ اگر وہ جواب میں " ہاں " کہہ دیتا تو ان کی رائے یہی ہوتی تھی کہ اب اسے کوئی نقصان نہیں ہوگا۔
Ek Islami Sahabi Raziallahu Anhu ke mutalliq marvi hai ki unhen kisi janwar ne das liya Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se is ka tazkira hua to Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya agar tum ne sham ke waqt ye kalmat keh liye hote "Aoozu bikalimatillahit tammati kulliha min sharri ma khalaq" to subah tak tumhen koi cheez nuqsan nahin pohancha sakti. Ravi Hadis Sohail kehte hain ki agar hum mein se kisi ko koi janwar das leta to mere walid sahab pochhte ki ye kalmat keh liye? Agar wo jawab mein "haan" keh deta to un ki rae yehi hoti thi ki ab ise koi nuqsan nahin hoga.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ أَنَّهُ لُدِغَ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْ أَنَّكَ قُلْتَ حِينَ أَمْسَيْتَ: أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، لَمْ تَضُرَّكَ" ، قَالَ سُهَيْلٌ: فَكَانَ أَبِي إِنْ لُدِغَ أَحَدٌ مِنَّا، يَقُولُ: قَالَهَا؟ فَإِنْ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: كَأَنَّهُ يَرَى أَنَّهَا لَا تَضُرُّهُ.
