Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10041
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), by mistake, offered two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer and ended it with salam. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "Has there been a decrease in the prayer?" Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up, offered two more rak'ahs, and after finishing it with salam, he performed two prostrations of forgetfulness (sajdah sahw).

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے بھولے سے ظہر کی دو رکعتیں پڑھا کر سلام پھیر دیا صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے پوچھا کیا نماز میں کمی ہوگئی ہے؟ اس پر نبی کریم ﷺ کھڑے ہوئے دو رکعتیں مزید ملائیں اور سلام پھیر کر سہو کے دو سجدے کرلیے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah RA se marvi hai keh aik martaba Nabi Kareem SAW ne bhool se Zuhar ki do rakat parh kar salaam phir diya. Sahaba kiram RA ne poocha kya namaz mein kami hogayi hai? Is par Nabi Kareem SAW kharay huye do rakaten mazeed milayen aur salaam phir kar sahu ke do sajde karliye.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , وَبَهْزٌ , قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، قََالَ: بَهْزٌ، إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَة، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، فَقِيلَ لَه: نَقَصَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ آخَرَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ" .
