Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10306
Narrated Abu Huraira (RA): The Prophet (SAW) said, "When anyone of you leads the prayer, he should shorten it, because among the followers there are the sick, the weak and the old. But when one prays alone, he may pray as long as he likes."

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا جب تم میں سے کوئی شخص امام بن کر نماز پڑھایا کرے تو ہلکی نماز پڑھایا کرے کیونکہ نمازیوں میں عمر رسیدہ کمزور اور بیمار سب ہی ہوتے ہیں۔ البتہ جب تنہا نماز پڑھے تو جتنی مرضی لمبی پڑھے۔
Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ki Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya jab tum mein se koi shakhs imam ban kar namaz parhaya kare to halki namaz parhaya kare kyunki namazion mein umar raseedah kamzor aur bimar sab hi hote hain albatta jab tanha namaz parhe to jitni marzi lambi parhe.
قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ . وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قََالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الضَّعِيفَ وَالسَّقِيمَ وَالْكَبِيرَ، وَإِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ فَلْيُطَوِّلْ مَا شَاءَ" .
