Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10720
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you tell your companion to be quiet, then you have done a useless act.

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا امام جس وقت جمعہ کا خطبہ دے رہا ہو اور تم اپنے ساتھی کو صرف یہ کہو کہ خاموش رہو تو تم نے لغو کام کیا۔
Hazrat Abu Huraira (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya Imam jis waqt Jumma ka khutba de raha ho aur tum apne saathi ko sirf yeh kaho keh khamosh raho to tum ne laghoo kaam kiya.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ: أَنْصِتْ , فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ" .
