Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 10722
Saeed Muqri, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "People say that Abu Hurairah narrates many hadiths. I met a man during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and I asked him, 'Which Surah did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recite in the Isha prayer tonight?' He said, 'I don't know.' I said, 'Didn't you join the prayer?' He said, 'Why not?' I said, 'I know the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recited such and such Surah."

سعید مقبری رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ ابوہریرہ بہت کثرت سے حدیثیں بیان کرتے ہیں میں دور نبوت میں ایک آدمی سے ملا اس سے میں نے پوچھا کہ آج رات عشاء کی نماز میں نبی کریم ﷺ نے کون سی سورت پڑھی تھی؟ اس نے کہا کہ مجھے معلوم نہیں میں نے کہا کہ کیا آپ نماز میں شریک نہیں تھے؟ اس نے کہا کیوں نہیں میں نے کہا کہ میں جانتاہوں نبی کریم ﷺ نے فلاں سورت پڑھی تھی۔
Saeed Muqabri rehmatullah alaih kehte hain ke aik martaba Hazrat Abu Hurairah razi Allah anhu ne farmaya log kehte hain ke Abu Hurairah bahut kasrat se hadithen bayan karte hain main dor e nabuat mein aik aadmi se mila us se maine pucha ke aaj raat isha ki namaz mein Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kaun si surat parhi thi usne kaha ke mujhe maloom nahi maine kaha ke kya aap namaz mein shareek nahi the usne kaha kyun nahi maine kaha ke main janta hun Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne falan surat parhi thi.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ , أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ , قََالَ: قََالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : يَقُولُ النَّاسُ: أَكْثَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ , فَلَقِيتُ رَجُلًا , فَقُلْتُ: " بِأَيِّ سُورَةٍ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَارِحَةَ فِي الْعَتَمَةِ , فَقَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي , فَقُلْتُ: أَلَمْ تَشْهَدْهَا؟ قَالَ: بَلَى , قُلْتُ: وَلَكِنِّي أَدْرِي , قَرَأَ سُورَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا .
