Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11010
A man once asked Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) about the length of the lower garment. He replied, "You have asked a knowledgeable person. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that a Muslim's lower garment should be halfway down the shin. There is no harm if it is between the calf and the ankles. But the portion of the lower garment that falls below the ankles will be in Hellfire, and Allah will not look mercifully upon the one who trails his garment on the ground out of pride."

ایک مرتبہ کسی شخص نے حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے ازار کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے فرمایا کہ تم نے ایک باخبر آدمی سے سوال پوچھا، میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ مسلمان کی تہبند نصف پنڈلی تک ہونی چاہئے، پنڈلی اور ٹخنوں کے درمیان ہونے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے لیکن تہبند کا جو حصہ ٹخنوں سے نیچے ہوگا وہ جہنم میں ہوگا اور اللہ اس شخص پر نظر کرم نہیں فرمائے گا جو اپنا تہبند تکبر سے زمین پر گھسیٹتا ہے۔
Ek martaba kisi shakhs ne Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri razi Allah anhu se izaar ke mutalliq poochha to unhon ne farmaya ke tum ne ek bakhabar aadmi se sawal poochha, main ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate hue suna hai ke musalman ki tehband nisf pindli tak honi chahie, pindli aur takhnon ke darmiyaan hone me koi harj nahi hai lekin tehband ka jo hissa takhnon se neeche hoga wo jahannam me hoga aur Allah us shakhs par nazar karam nahi farmaye ga jo apna tehband takabbur se zameen par ghaseetta hai.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْإِزَارِ، فَقَالَ: عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:" إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ السَّاقَيْنِ، لَا جُنَاحَ أَوْ لَا حَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، مَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ، لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا".
