Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11028
Once a man asked Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) about the length of the lower garment, whether he had heard any instruction from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding this. He replied, "Yes! Remember, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say that a Muslim's lower garment should be up to half the calf. There is no harm if it is between the calf and the ankles. But the portion of the lower garment that falls below the ankles will be in Hellfire." He repeated this sentence three times.

ایک مرتبہ کسی شخص نے حضرت ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے ازار کے متعلق پوچھا کہ آپ نے اس حوالے سے نبی ﷺ کا کوئی ارشاد سنا ہے؟ تو انہوں نے فرمایا ہاں! یاد رکھو، میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ مسلمان کی تہبند نصف پنڈلی تک ہونی چاہئے، پنڈلی اور ٹخنوں کے درمیان ہونے میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے، لیکن تہبند کا جو حصہ ٹخنوں سے نیچے ہوگا وہ جہنم میں ہوگا، یہ جملہ تین مرتبہ دہرایا۔
aik martaba kisi shakhs ne hazrat abusaid khudri razi allaho anho se azar ke mutaliq poocha keh aap ne is hawale se nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam ka koi irshad suna hai to unhon ne farmaya haan yaad rakho main ne nabi sallallaho alaihi wasallam ko ye farmate hue suna hai keh musalman ki tehband nisf pindli tak honi chahiye pindli aur takhnon ke darmiyaan hone mein koi harj nahi hai lekin tehband ka jo hissa takhnon se neeche hoga wo jahannam mein hoga ye jumla teen martaba dohraaya
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ ، هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْإِزَارِ شَيْئًا؟، قَالَ: نَعَمْ بعلمْ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:" إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، لَا جُنَاحَ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، وَمَا أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ هُوَ فِي النَّارِ" يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ.
