The Musnad of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him)
مسنَد اَبِی سَعِید الخدرِیِّ رَضِیَ اللَّه تَعَالَى عَنه
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 11726
And it is narrated from the previous chain that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, repeated this three times. Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how long is the guest's hospitality?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "For three days, then after that, if he stays, it is charity."

اور گزشتہ سند ہی سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا جو شخص اللہ اور یوم آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو، اسے اپنے مہمان کا اکرام کرنا چاہئے، نبی ﷺ نے یہ بات تین مرتبہ دہرائی، کسی نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ ! مہمان کا اکرام کب تک ہے؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تین دن تک، اس کے بعد اگر وہ وہاں ٹھہرتا ہے تو وہ صدقہ ہے۔
Aur guzishta sanad hi se marvi hai keh nabi ne farmaya jo shakhs Allah aur yaum aakhirat par imaan rakhta ho use apne mehman ka ikram karna chahiye nabi ne ye baat teen martaba dohraayi kisi ne poocha ya rasool Allah ! mehman ka ikram kab tak hai? Nabi ne farmaya teen din tak uske baad agar woh wahan thherta hai to woh sadqah hai.
(حديث موقوف) وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ، فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ" , قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا، قَالَ: وَمَا كَرَامَةُ الضَّيْفِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ:" ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ، فَمَا جَلَسَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ صَدَقَةٌ".
