Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 13418
It is narrated on the authority of Anas RA that I served the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for ten years. During this time, if the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ever ordered me to do something and I was late in doing it or could not do it, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) never rebuked me. If anyone from the family rebuked me, you (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would say, "Leave him alone, if it was destined to happen, it would have happened."

حضرت انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے دس سال تک نبی ﷺ کی خدمت کی ہے، نبی ﷺ نے اس دوران اگر مجھے کسی کا حکم دیا اور مجھے اس میں تاخیر ہوگئی یا وہ کام نہ کرسکا تو نبی ﷺ نے مجھے کبھی ملامت نہ کی، اگر اہل خانہ میں سے کوئی شخص ملامت کرتا تو آپ ﷺ فرما دیتے کہ اسے چھوڑ دو، اگر تقدیر میں یہ کام لکھا ہوتا تو ضرور ہوجاتا۔
Hazrat Anas razi Allah anhu se marvi hai ke maine das saal tak Nabi salallahu alaihi wasallam ki khidmat ki hai, Nabi salallahu alaihi wasallam ne is dauran agar mujhe kisi ka hukm diya aur mujhe is mein takheer hogayi ya woh kaam na karsaka to Nabi salallahu alaihi wasallam ne mujhe kabhi malamat na ki, agar ahle khana mein se koi shakhs malamat karta to aap salallahu alaihi wasallam farma dete ke ise chhor do, agar taqdeer mein yeh kaam likha hota to zaroor hojata.
حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ الْبَصْرِيُّ الْقَصِيرُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ:" خَدَمْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، فَمَا أَمَرَنِي بِأَمْرٍ فَتَوَانَيْتُ عَنْهُ، أَوْ ضَيَّعْتُهُ، فَلَامَنِي، فَإِنْ لَامَنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا قَالَ: دَعُوهُ، فَلَوْ قُدِّرَ أَوْ قَالَ: لَوْ قُضِيَ أَنْ يَكُونَ كَانَ".
