Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14121
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: When the strap of one of your shoes breaks, do not walk wearing only one shoe until you have repaired the other; and do not walk wearing only one sock; and do not eat with the left hand; and do not wrap your body in a single garment; and do not sit resting on one hip [with one leg drawn up and the other stretched out].

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کسی کے جوتے کا تسمہ ٹوٹ جائے تو وہ صرف ایک جوتی پہن کر نہ چلے جب تک دوسری کو نہ ٹھیک کر لے اور صرف ایک موزہ پہن کر بھی نہ چلے، بائیں ہاتھ سے نہ کھائے، ایک کپڑے میں اپنا جسم نہ لپیٹے اور نہ ہی گوٹ مار کر بیٹھے۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye farmate huye suna hai ki jab tum mein se kisi ke joote ka tasma toot jaye to wo sirf ek jooti pehen kar na chale jab tak dusri ko na theek kar le aur sirf ek moza pehen kar bhi na chale, bayein haath se na khaye, ek kapre mein apna jism na lapete aur na hi got maar kar baithe.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ:" نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الرَّجُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ، أَوْ يَمْشِيَ فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، أَوْ يَحْتَبيِ بِثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ، أَوْ يَشْتَمِلَ الصَّمَّاءَ".
