Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14284
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a villager came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and pledged allegiance to him (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by placing his hand in the Prophet's right hand. After a short while, he developed a high fever. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, "Cancel my pledge." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) refused. This happened three times. The fourth time, he did not come. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) inquired about him, and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "He has left Madinah." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Madinah is like a furnace; it removes its impurities and brightens and purifies what is good."

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک دیہاتی نے نبی ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہو کر آپ ﷺ کے دست حق پرست پر بیعت کر لی، کچھ ہی عرصے میں اسے بہت تیز بخار ہو گیا، وہ نبی ﷺ کے پاس آیا اور کہنے لگا کہ میری بیعت فسخ کر دیجئے، نبی ﷺ نے انکار کر دیا، تین مرتبہ ایسا ہی ہوا، چوتھی مرتبہ وہ نہ آیا، نبی ﷺ نے معلوم کیا تو صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم نے بتایا کہ وہ مدینہ سے چلا گیا ہے، اس پر نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ مدینہ بھٹی کی طرح ہے، جو اپنے میل کچیل کو دور کر دیتی ہے اور عمدہ چیز کو چمکدار اور صاف ستھرا کر دیتی ہے۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki aik dehati ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir ho kar Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke dast haq parast par bai't kar li, kuchh hi arse mein use bahut tez bukhar ho gaya, woh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke paas aaya aur kehne laga ki meri bai't fasakh kar dijiye, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne inkar kar diya, teen martaba aisa hi hua, chauthi martaba woh na aaya, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne maloom kiya to Sahaba (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne bataya ki woh Madinah se chala gaya hai, is par Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya ki Madinah bhatti ki tarah hai, jo apne mail kachil ko door kar deti hai aur umdah cheez ko chamkdar aur saaf suthra kar deti hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، قال: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَايَعَهُ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، فَوُعِكَ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: أَقِلْنِي، فَأَبَى، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ، فَقَالَ: أَقِلْنِي، فَأَبَى، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ، فَقَالُوا: خَرَجَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" إِنَّ الْمَدِينَةَ كَالْكِيرِ تَنْفِي خَبَثَهَا، وَينْْصَعُ طَيِّبَهَا".
