Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14449
Abdul Rahman says that I inquired from Sayyidina Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) about the monitor lizard, "Can I eat it?". He replied, "Yes". I asked, "Is it game?". He replied, "Yes". I asked him, "Is this with reference to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?". He said, "Yes indeed!".

عبدالرحمن کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے بجو کے متعلق دریافت کیا کہ میں اسے کھاسکتا ہوں؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہاں! میں نے پوچھا کیا یہ شکار ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہاں! میں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ کیا یہ بات نبی ﷺ کے حوالے سے ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: جی ہاں۔
Abdulrahman kahte hain ke maine Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se bajoo ke mutaliq daryaft kiya ke main ise kha sakta hun? Unhon ne farmaya: Haan! Maine pucha kya yeh shikar hai? Unhon ne farmaya: Haan! Maine un se pucha ke kya yeh baat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke hawale se hai? Unhon ne farmaya: Ji haan.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ عَنِ الضَّبُعِ، قُلْتُ: آكُلُهَا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: أَصَيْدٌ هِيَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْتُ: سَمِعْتَ ذَاكَ مِنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
