Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14888
It is narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The example of me and the other Prophets is that of a man who built a house and completed it, making it beautiful, but he left a place for one brick. People would enter the house, admire it, and say, 'If only this one brick were not missing, the building would have been complete!' That one brick is my place: I have come and completed the line of Prophets.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا: میری اور دیگر انبیاء کی مثال یہ ہے کہ ایک آدمی نے کوئی مکان بنایا ہے اور اسے مکمل کر کے خوبصورت بنایا لیکن ایک اینٹ کی جگہ چھوڑ دی لوگ اس گھر میں داخل ہوتے اور خوش ہوتے اور کہتے کہ اگر یہ ایک اینٹ کی جگہ خالی نہ چھوڑی جاتی تو یہ عمارت مکمل ہو جاتی وہ ایک اینٹ کی جگہ میں ہوں کہ میں نے آ کر انبیاء کرام کا سلسلہ ختم کر دیا۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya: meri aur deegar anbiya ki misal yeh hai ki ek aadmi ne koi makaan banaya hai aur usay mukammal kar ke khoobsurat bana liya lekin ek eent ki jagah chhod di log us ghar mein dakhil hote aur khush hote aur kehte ki agar yeh ek eent ki jagah khali na chhodi jati to yeh imarat mukammal ho jati woh ek eent ki jagah mein hun ki maine aa kar anbiya kiram ka silsila khatam kar diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مِينَاءَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:" مَثَلِي وَمَثَلُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ، كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ ابْتَنَى دَارًا فَأَكْمَلَهَا وَأَحْسَنَهَا، إِلَّا مَوْضِعَ لَبِنَةٍ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَيَعْجَبُونَ، وَيَقُولُونَ: لَوْلَا مَوْضِعُ اللَّبِنَةِ"، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" فَأَنَا مَوْضِعُ اللَّبِنَةِ جِئْتُ فَخَتَمْتُ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ".
