Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 14906
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, while the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon, a man arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked him, "Have you prayed two rak'ahs?" He replied, "No." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Then pray two rak'ahs." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) states that even if someone had prayed these two rak'ahs at home, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) still liked for them to pray these two rak'ahs after coming to the mosque.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ خطبہ دے رہے تھے اسی دوران ایک آدمی آیا نبی ﷺ نے اس سے پوچھا کہ تم نے دو رکعتیں پڑھ لی ہیں اس نے کہا نہیں نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: پھر دو رکعتیں پڑھ لو سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ اگر کسی شخص نے کسی گھر میں یہ دو رکعتیں پڑھ لی ہوں تب بھی نبی ﷺ کو یہ بات پسند تھی کہ مسجد میں آنے کے بعد بھی یہ دو رکعتیں پڑھ جائیں۔
Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) khutba de rahe the usi dauran ek aadmi aaya Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us se pucha ki tumne do rakaten padh li hain usne kaha nahin Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya phir do rakaten padh lo Sayyidna Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) farmate hain ki agar kisi shakhs ne kisi ghar mein ye do rakaten padh li hon tab bhi Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko ye baat pasand thi ki masjid mein aane ke bad bhi ye do rakaten padh jayen.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ:" أَصَلَّيْتَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ؟"، فَقَالَ: لَا، قَالَ:" فَصَلِّهِمَا"، قَالَ: وَكَانَ جَابِرٌ، يَقُولُ: إِنْ صَلَّى فِي بَيْتِهِ، يُعْجِبُهُ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهُمَا.
