Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 15231
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the verdict that if something is given to someone for life, then it belongs to them.

سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے یہ فیصلہ فرمایا ہے کہ جس شخص کو عمربھر کے لئے کوئی چیز دے دی گئی ہو وہ اس کی ہو گی۔
Saina Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne ye faisla farmaya hai keh jis shakhs ko umarbhar ke liye koi cheez de di gayi ho wo uski hogi.
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ الْأَشْيَبُ , حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ , عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" قَضَى فِي الْعُمْرَى أَنَّهَا لِمَنْ وُهِبَتْ لَهُ".
