Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16443
Amr ibn Yahya reported on the authority of his father that his grandfather asked Abdullah ibn Zaid ibn Asim, the Companion of the Prophet, "Could you show me how the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform ablution?" He said, "Yes." Then he called for water and poured it over his hands, washed them, rinsed his mouth and nose three times each, washed his face three times, washed his arms up to the elbows twice, wiped his head with both hands, moving them back and forth - starting from the front of his head and going back to the nape of the neck and returning to the point where he started. Then he washed his feet and said, "This is how I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) performing ablution."

عمرو بن یحییٰ اپنے والد سے نقل کرتے ہیں کہ ان کے دادا نے سیدنا عبداللہ بن زید بن عاصم جو کہ صحابی تھے، سے پوچھا کہ کیا آپ مجھے دکھا سکتے ہیں کہ نبی ﷺ کسی طرح وضو فرماتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہاں! پھر انہوں نے وضو کا پانی منگوا کر اپنے ہاتھ پر ڈالا، اسے دھویا، تین تین مرتبہ کلی اور ناک میں پانی ڈالا، تین مرتبہ چہرہ دھویا، دو مرتبہ کہنیوں تک ہاتھ دھوئے، دونوں ہاتھوں سے سر کا مسح کرتے ہوئے انہیں آگے پیچھے لے گئے، سر کے اگلے حصے سے مسح کا آغاز کیا اور گدی تک ہاتھ لے گئے پھر واپس اسی جگہ پر لے گئے جہاں سے مسح کا آغاز کیا تھا، پھر اپنے پاؤں دھوئے اور فرمایا کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو اسی طرح وضو کرتے ہوئے دیکھا ہے۔

Unhon ne farmaya: Haan! Phir unhon ne wuzu ka pani mangwa kar apne hath par dala, isse dhoya, teen teen martaba kuli aur nak mein pani dala, teen martaba chehra dhoya, do martaba kahniyon tak hath dhoye, donon hathon se sar ka masah karte hue unhen aage peeche le gaye, sar ke agle hisse se masah ka aghaz kiya aur gaddi tak hath le gaye phir wapas usi jagah par le gaye jahan se masah ka aghaz kiya tha, phir apne paon dhoye aur farmaya ke maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko isi tarah wuzu karte hue dekha hai.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ سُئِلَ عَنْ وُضُوءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" فَدَعَا بِمَاءٍ، فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ، وَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ، وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ، قَالَ عُثْمَانُ:" مَسَحَ مَالِكٌ رَأْسَهُ، فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ بِهِمَا، وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ"، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ.
