Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 16779
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked up at the sky and said: "People are coming to you from the direction of the clouds, among the best of the people of the earth are the people of Yemen." A man sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: "O Messenger of Allah! Are they better than us?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied softly: "Except for you."

سیدنا جبیر بن مطعم رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے آسمان کی طرف سر اٹھا کر دیکھا اور فرمایا: تمہارے پاس بادلوں کے ٹکڑوں کی طرح اہل زمین میں سب سے بہتر لوگ یعنی اہل یمن آرہے ہیں، نبی ﷺ کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے ایک آدمی نے پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ!! کیا وہ ہم سے بھی بہتر ہیں؟ نبی ﷺ نے اس کے جواب میں آہستہ سے فرمایا: سوائے تمہارے۔
Sayyidna Jubair bin Mut'im (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne asmaan ki taraf sar utha kar dekha aur farmaya: tumhare pass badalon ke tkdon ki tarah ahl zameen mein sab se behtar log yani ahl Yemen aa rahe hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass baithe hue ek aadmi ne poocha: Ya Rasulullah!! kya wo hum se bhi behtar hain? Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne us ke jawab mein aahista se farmaya: siwaye tumhare.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا نَحْنُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِطَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ، إِذْ قَالَ:" يَطْلُعُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ كَأَنَّهُمْ السَّحَابُ، هُمْ خِيَارُ مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ"، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ: وَلَا نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ، قَالَ: وَلَا نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ فَسَكَتَ، قَالَ: وَلَا نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟، فَقَالَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ كَلِمَةً ضَعِيفَةً:" إِلَّا أَنْتُمْ".
