Hadith of 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As from the Prophet, peace be upon him

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 17910
And the last thing the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, advised me when he sent me to Taif was this: "O Uthman! Keep the prayers short, for amongst the people are the elderly and the needy."

اور نبی ﷺ نے مجھے طائف بھیجتے وقت سب سے آخر میں جو وصیت کی تھی وہ یہ تھی کہ اے عثمان! نماز مختصر پڑھانا کیونکہ لوگوں میں بوڑھے اور ضرورت مند بھی ہوتے ہیں۔
Aur Nabi SAW ne mujhe Taif bhejte waqt sab se akhir mein jo wasiyat ki thi wo ye thi ke ae Usman! Namaz mukhtasir parhana kyunki logon mein budhe aur zaroorat mand bhi hote hain.
قَالَ: قَالَ: وَكَانَ آخِرُ شَيْءٍ عَهِدَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيَّ أَنْ قَالَ: " جَوِّزْ فِي صَلَاتِكَ وَاقْدُرْ النَّاسَ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ، فَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ الصَّغِيرَ وَالْكَبِيرَ، وَالضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ" ..
