Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18174
It is narrated on the authority of Mughirah bin Shubah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It is up to the rider following a funeral procession (whether he goes ahead or behind, to the right or to the left) and the funeral prayer of a minor child should be offered, in which forgiveness and mercy should be sought for his parents.

حضرت مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا سوار آدمی جنازے کے پیچھے چلے پیدل چلنے والے کی مرضی ہے (آگے چلے یا پیچھے دائیں جانب چلے یا بائیں جانب) اور نابالغ بچے کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی جائے گی، جس میں اس کے والدین کے لئے مغفرت اور رحمت کی دعاء کی جائے گی۔
Hazrat Mugheera bin Shaaba RA se marvi hai ke Rasul Allah SAW ne irshad farmaya sawaar aadmi janaze ke peeche chale paidal chalne wale ki marzi hai (aage chale ya peeche daayen jaanib chale ya baayen jaanib) aur nabaligh bache ki namaz janaza padhi jayegi, jis mein uske waldain ke liye maghfirat aur rehmat ki dua ki jayegi.
حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " الرَّاكِبُ خَلْفَ الْجِنَازَةِ، وَالْمَاشِي أَمَامَهَا قَرِيبًا عَنْ يَمِينِهَا، أَوْ عَنْ يَسَارِهَا، وَالسِّقْطُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ، وَيُدْعَى لِوَالِدَيْهِ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ" .
