Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18439
Noman (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in a letter to Qais bin Haithem, "You are our brothers, but we have been present on such occasions where you were not, and we have heard such things which you have not heard. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that before the Day of Judgment, tribulations will unfold like the portions of a dark night. A person will be a Muslim in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or a Muslim in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning. People will sell their religion and morals for a small amount of worldly wealth and possessions."

حضرت نعمان رضی اللہ عنہ نے قیس بن ہیثم کو خط میں لکھا کہ تم لوگ ہمارے بھائی ہو لیکن ہم ایسے مواقع پر موجود رہے ہیں جہاں تم نہیں رہے اور ہم نے وہ باتیں سنی ہیں جو تم نے نہیں سنیں نبی کریم ﷺ فرماتے تھے کہ قیامت سے پہلے فتنے اس طرح رونما ہوں گے جیسے تاریک رات کے حصے ہوتے ہیں اس زمانے میں ایک آدمی صبح کو مسلمان اور شام کو کافر ہوگا یا شام کو مسلمان اور صبح کو کافر ہوگا اور لوگ اپنے دین و اخلاق کو دنیا کے ذرا سے مال و متاع کے عوض بیچ دیں گے۔
Hazrat Noman Radi Allaho Anho ne Qais bin Haitam ko khat mein likha keh tum log humare bhai ho lekin hum aise moaqe par mojood rahe hain jahan tum nahi rahe aur humne woh baatein suni hain jo tumne nahi suni Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam farmate thy keh qayamat se pehle fitne is tarah ronuma honge jaise tareek raat ke hisse hote hain is zamane mein ek aadmi subah ko musalman aur sham ko kafir hoga ya sham ko musalman aur subah ko kafir hoga aur log apne deen o akhlaq ko duniya ke zara se maal o mata ke badle bech denge.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، أَنَّ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ كَتَبَ إِلَى قَيْسِ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ: إِنَّكُمْ إِخْوَانُنَا وَأَشِقَّاؤُنَا، وَإِنَّا شَهِدْنَا، وَلَمْ تَشْهَدُوا، وَسَمِعْنَا، وَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا، وَإِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ:" إِنَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ فِتَنًا كَأَنَّهَا قِطَعُ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ، يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا مُؤْمِنًا، وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا، وَيَبِيعُ فِيهَا أَقْوَامٌ خَلَاقَهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا" .
