Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18498
Bura' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "We did not hear all the hadiths directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Our companions also used to narrate hadiths to us. Due to grazing camels, we could not be present in the Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) company as much."

حضرت براء رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ساری حدیثیں ہم نے نبی کریم ﷺ ہی سے نہیں سنیں ہمارے ساتھی بھی ہم سے احادیث بیان کرتے تھے اونٹوں کو چرانے کی وجہ سے ہم نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں بہت زیادہ حاضر نہیں ہوپاتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ، قَالَ: " مَا كُلُّ مَا نُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَكِنْ حَدَّثَنَا أَصْحَابُنَا، وَكَانَتْ تَشْغَلُنَا رَعِيَّةُ الْإِبِلِ" .
