Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 18824
A companion, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that once people were observing fast on the 30th day of Ramadan, when some people from the countryside came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and testified that they had seen the moon of Eid the previous night. So, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered the people to end their fast.

ایک صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ لوگوں نے ماہ رمضان کے ٣٠ ویں دن بھی روزہ رکھا ہوا تھا کہ دودیہاتی آدمی نبی کریم ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور شہادت دی کہ کل رات انہوں نے عید کا چاند دیکھا تھا تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے لوگوں کو روزہ ختم کرنے کا حکم دیا۔
aik sahabi razi allah anhu se marvi hai keh aik martaba logon ne mah ramazan ke 30ven din bhi roza rakha hua tha keh doodihati aadmi nabi kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki khidmat mein hazir hue aur shahadat di keh kal raat unhon ne eid ka chand dekha tha to nabi kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne logon ko roza khatam karne ka hukm diya.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَ: حدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " أَصْبَحَ النَّاسُ لِتَمَامِ ثَلاَثِينَ يَوْمًا، فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيَّانِ، فَشَهِدَا أَنَّهُمَا أَهَلاَّهُ بِالَأْْمْسِ عَشِيَّةً، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُفْطِرُوا" .
