The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1938
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that I do not know of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) having fasted any day and seeking its virtue over other days except the day of 'Ashura and this blessed month of Ramadan.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ میرے علم میں نہیں ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے کسی ایسے دن کا روزہ رکھا ہو، جس کی فضیلت دیگر ایام پر تلاش کی ہو، سوائے یوم عاشورہ کے اور اس ماہ مقدس رمضان کے۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki mere ilm mein nahi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne kisi aise din ka roza rakha ho, jis ki fazilat digar ayyam par talaash ki ho, siwae Youm Ashura ke aur is mah e muqaddas Ramzan ke.
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ مُنْذُ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ:" مَا عَلِمْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، صَامَ يَوْمًا يَتَحَرَّى فَضْلَهُ عَلَى الأَيَّامِ، غَيْرَ يَوْمِ عَاشُورَاءَ"، وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: أُخْرَى إِلَّا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَعْنِي: عَاشُورَاءَ، وَهَذَا الشَّهْرَ شَهْرَ , رَمَضَانَ.
