Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19486
Abu Burdah conveyed the aforementioned Hadith to Umar bin Abdul Aziz, who asked him to swear by Allah, besides Whom there is no deity, that his father had narrated this Hadith to him and that he had heard it from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Saeed bin Abi Burdah, Awf's son, did not deny it.

ابوبردہ نے گزشتہ حدیث حضرت عمرعبدالعزیز رحمہ اللہ کو سنائی تو انہوں نے ابوبردہ سے اس اللہ کے نام کی قسم کھانے کے لئے کہا جس کے علاوہ کوئی معبود نہیں کہ یہ حدیث ان کے والد صاحب نے بیان کی ہے اور انہوں نے اسے نبی کریم ﷺ سے سنا ہے اور سعید بن ابی بردہ، عوف کی اس بات کی تردید نہیں کرتے۔
AbuBurda ne guzishta hadees Hazrat UmarabdulAziz rehmatullah alaih ko sunaee to unhon ne AbuBurda se is Allah ke naam ki qasam khane ke liye kaha jis ke alawa koi mabood nahin keh ye hadees un ke walid sahib ne bayan ki hai aur unhon ne ise Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se suna hai aur Saeed bin Abi Burda, Auf ki is baat ki tardeed nahin karte.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، وَعَوْنِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّهُمَا شَهِدَا أَبَا بُرْدَةَ ، يُحَدِّثُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، قَالَ عَوْنٌ: فَاسْتَحْلَفَهُ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ ذَلِكَ سَعِيدٌ عَلَى عَوْنٍ أَنَّهُ اسْتَحْلَفَهُ.
