Hadith of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19530
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood among us and stated four things: Allah Almighty does not sleep, nor is sleep befitting for Him. He lowers the scales and raises them. The deeds of the night are presented to Him during the day and the deeds of the day during the night.

حضرت ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی کریم ﷺ ہمارے درمیان کھڑے ہوئے اور چارباتیں بیان فرمائیں اور وہ یہ کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کو نیند نہیں آتی اور نہ ہی نیند ان کی شایان شان ہے وہ ترازو کو جھکاتے اور اونچا کرتے ہیں رات کے اعمال دن کے وقت اور دن کے اعمال رات کے وقت ان کے سامنے پیش کئے جاتے ہیں۔
Hazrat Abu Musa (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki ek martaba Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) humare darmiyaan kharay huye aur char baatein bayaan farmaein aur woh ye ke Allah Ta'ala ko neend nahi aati aur na hi neend un ki shayan shaan hai woh tarazu ko jhukate aur uncha karte hain raat ke amaal din ke waqt aur din ke amaal raat ke waqt un ke samne pesh kiye jate hain.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَرْبَعٍ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَنَامُ، وَلَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ، يَخْفِضُ الْقِسْطَ، وَيَرْفَعُهُ، يُرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ عَمَلُ اللَّيْلِ بِالنَّهَارِ، وَعَمَلُ النَّهَارِ بِاللَّيْلِ" .
