Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19786
It is narrated on the authority of Hadrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I went out for a walk. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had turned his face to one side. I thought that perhaps he was going to relieve himself, so I started to pass by. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw me and beckoned me. I reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he took my hand and we both started walking to one side. Suddenly we reached near a man who was praying and was bowing and prostrating frequently. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Do you consider him a hypocrite?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) released my hand and joined both his palms together and started raising and lowering them to his shoulders and said three times, "Keep to the middle course upon yourselves, for whoever is strict in the matter of religion will be overwhelmed.” The previous hadith is narrated from this second chain of narration as well.

حضرت ابوبرزہ اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک دن میں ٹہلتا ہوا نکلا تو دیکھا کہ نبی ﷺ نے ایک جانب چہرے کا رخ کیا ہوا ہے، میں سمجھا کہ شاید آپ قضاء حاجت کے لئے جارہے ہیں، اس لئے میں ایک طرف کو ہو کر نکلنے لگا، نبی ﷺ نے مجھے دیکھ لیا اور میری طرف اشارہ کیا، میں نبی ﷺ کے پاس پہنچا تو انہوں نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑ لیا اور ہم دونوں ایک طرف چلنے لگے، اچانک ہم ایک آدمی کے قریب پہنچے جو نماز پڑھ رہا تھا اور کثرت سے رکوع و سجود کررہا تھا، نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کیا تم اسے ریاکار سمجھتے ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا اللہ اور اس کے رسول زیادہ جانتے ہیں، نبی ﷺ نے میرا ہاتھ چھوڑ کر دونوں ہتھیلیوں کو اکٹھا کیا اور کندھوں کے برابر اٹھانے اور نیچے کرنے لگے اور تین مرتبہ فرمایا اپنے اوپر درمیانہ راستہ لازم کرلو، کیونکہ جو شخص دین کے معاملے میں سختی کرتا ہے، وہ مغلوب ہو جاتا ہے۔ گزشتہ حدیث اس دوسری سند سے بھی مروی ہے۔
Hazrat Abu Burza Aslami (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki aik din main tehlta hua nikla to dekha ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne aik janib chehre ka rukh kiya hua hai, main samjha ki shayad aap qaza hajat ke liye ja rahe hain, is liye main aik taraf ko ho kar nikalne laga, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mujhe dekh liya aur meri taraf ishara kiya, main Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass pahuncha to unhon ne mera hath pakad liya aur hum donon aik taraf chalne lage, achanak hum aik aadmi ke qareeb pahunche jo namaz padh raha tha aur kasrat se ruku wa sujud kar raha tha, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya kya tum ise riyakar samjhte ho? Maine arz kiya Allah aur uske Rasul zyada jante hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne mera hath chhod kar donon hatheliyon ko akatha kiya aur kandhon ke barabar uthane aur neeche karne lage aur teen martaba farmaya apne upar darmiyana rasta lazim karlo, kyunki jo shakhs deen ke mamle mein sakhti karta hai, woh maghloob ho jata hai. Guzashta hadees is dusri sanad se bhi marvi hai.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُيَيْنَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، قَالَ: خَرَجْتُ يَوْمًا أَمْشِي، فَإِذَا بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَوَجِّهًا، فَظَنَنْتُهُ يُرِيدُ حَاجَةً، فَجَعَلْتُ أَخْنَسُ عَنْهُ وَأُعَارِضُهُ، فَرَآنِي فَأَشَارَ إِلَيَّ فَأَتَيْتُهُ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي، فَانْطَلَقْنَا نَمْشِي جَمِيعًا، فَإِذَا نَحْنُ بِرَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي يُكْثِرُ الرُّكُوعَ وَالسُّجُودَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:" أَتُرَاهُ مُرَائِيًا" فَقُلْتُ: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ , فَأَرْسَلَ يَدِي، ثُمَّ طَبَّقَ بَيْنَ كَفَّيْهِ فَجَمَعَهُمَا، وَجَعَلَ يَرْفَعُهُمَا بِحِيَالِ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَيَضَعُهُمَا، وَيَقُولُ: " عَلَيْكُمْ هَدْيًا قَاصِدًا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ , فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يُشَادَّ الدِّينَ يَغْلِبْهُ" , وقَالَ يَزِيدُ بِبَغْدَادَ: بُرَيْدَةُ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، وَقَدْ كَانَ قَالَ: عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بُرَيْدَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ , قَالَا: بُرَيْدَةُ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ.
