Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 19914
It is narrated on the authority of Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Modesty always brings good. Upon hearing this Hadith from him Bashir bin Ka'b said that it is written in the books of wisdom that modesty brings dignity and tranquility. Imran bin Husain (May Allah be pleased with him) replied that I am narrating to you the Hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and you are talking about your scriptures.

حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا حیاء ہمیشہ خیر ہی لاتی ہے، یہ حدیث ان سے سن کر بشیر بن کعب کہنے لگے کہ حکمت کی کتابوں میں لکھا ہے کہ حیاء سے وقاروسکینت پیدا ہوتی ہے، حضرت عمران رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ میں تم سے نبی ﷺ کی حدیث بیان کررہا ہوں اور تم اپنے صحیفوں کی بات کررہے ہو۔
Hazrat Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Hazrat Imran bin Husain (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya haya hamesha khair hi laati hai, yeh hadees un se sunkar Bashir bin Kaab kehne lage ki hikmat ki kitaabon mein likha hai ki haya se waqar o sakinat peda hoti hai, Hazrat Imran (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya ki mein tum se Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ki hadees bayan kar raha hun aur tum apne sahifon ki baat kar rahe ho.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو السَّوَّارِ الْعَدَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الْحَيَاءُ خَيْرٌ كُلُّهُ" , فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ: إِنَّهُ يُقَالُ فِي الْحِكْمَةِ: إِنَّ مِنْهُ وَقَارًا لِلَّهِ، وَإِنَّ مِنْهُ ضَعْفًا , فَقَالَ لَهُ عِمْرَانُ: أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَتُحَدِّثُنِي عَنِ الصُّحُفِ؟!.
