The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 1995
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that we traveled with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) between Makkah and Madinah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had no fear except from Allah, but despite this, he prayed by shortening his prayers to two rak'ahs until we returned.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ہم لوگوں نے نبی ﷺ کے ہمراہ مکہ اور مدینہ منورہ کے درمیان سفر کیا، آپ ﷺ کو اللہ کے علاوہ کسی سے خوف نہیں تھا، لیکن اس کے باوجود آپ ﷺ نے واپس لوٹنے تک دو دو رکعتیں کر کے نماز پڑھی (قصر فرمائی)۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas razi Allah anhuma se marvi hai ki hum logon ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke humraah Makkah aur Madina Munawwara ke darmiyaan safar kiya, aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko Allah ke alawa kisi se khauf nahi tha, lekin iske bawajood aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne wapas lautne tak do do rakaten kar ke namaz parhi (qasar farma'i).
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: سِرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ وَالْمَدِينَةِ" فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ لَا يَخَافُ إِلَّا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ".
