Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 20310
Amr bin Maimoon narrates that once he was in the court of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) when Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gathered all the companions while he was still alive and in good health and asked them under oath if anyone had heard anything from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the inheritance of a grandfather. Upon this, Mughirah bin Shubah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said that once a case of inheritance was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he had given a third or a sixth. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked what was the case? He replied that he did not remember. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said who stopped you from remembering it.

عمرو بن میمون کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ وہ حضرت عمر کی خدمت میں حاضر تھے انہوں نے اپنی زندگی اور صحت میں صحابہ کو جمع کرلیا اور انہیں قسم دے کر پوچھا کہ دادا کی وراثت کے متعلق کسی نے نبی ﷺ سے کچھ سنا ہو؟ اس پر حضرت معقل بن یسار رضی اللہ عنہ کھڑے ہوگئے اور کہنے لگے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ کے پاس وراثت کا ایک مسئلہ لایا گیا تو نبی ﷺ نے اسے تہائی یا چھٹاحصہ دیا تھا حضرت عمر نے پوچھا کہ وہ مسئلہ کیا تھا؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ مجھے یاد نہیں رہا انہوں نے فرمایا اسے یاد رکھنے سے تمہیں کس نے روکا تھا؟
Amr bin Maimoon kehte hain ki ek martaba woh Hazrat Umar ki khidmat mein hazir thay unhon ne apni zindagi aur sehat mein sahaba ko jama kar liya aur unhen qasam de kar poocha ki dada ki wirasat ke mutalliq kisi ne Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se kuchh suna ho is par Hazrat Muqal bin Yasar (رضي الله تعالى عنه) khare huye aur kehne lage ki ek martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke pass wirasat ka ek masla laya gaya to Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne use tehai ya chhataha hissa diya tha Hazrat Umar ne poocha ki woh masla kya tha unhon ne jawab diya ki mujhe yaad nahin raha unhon ne farmaya use yaad rakhne se tumhen kis ne roka tha
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ , سَأَلَ عَنْ فَرِيضَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْجَدِّ، فَقَامَ مَعْقِلُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ ، فَقَالَ: " قَضَى فِيهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ: مَاذَا؟ قَالَ: السُّدُسَ , قَالَ: مَعَ مَنْ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي , قَالَ: لَا دَرَيْتَ، فَمَا تُغْنِي إِذًا؟! .
