Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21001
It is narrated from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the muezzin of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would give the adhan, he would pause for a while and would not say the iqamah until he saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) coming out. When he would see that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had come out, then he would start the iqamah.

حضرت جابر رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ کا مؤذن جب اذان دیتا تو کچھ دیر رک جاتا اور اس وقت تک اقامت نہ کہتا جب تک نبی ﷺ کو باہر نکلتے ہوئے نہ دیکھ لیتا جب وہ دیکھتا کہ نبی ﷺ باہر نکل آئے ہیں تو وہ اقامت شروع کردیتا۔
Hazrat Jabir (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ka moazzin jab azan deta to kuch der ruk jata aur us waqt tak iqamat na kehta jab tak Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko bahar nikalte hue na dekh leta jab wo dekhta ki Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) bahar nikal aaye hain to wo iqamat shuru karta.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ:" كَانَ مُؤَذِّنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤَذِّنُ، ثُمَّ يُمْهِلُ وَلَا يُقِيمُ، حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ خَرَجَ، أَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ حِينَ يَرَاهُ" .
