The Hadith of Khabbab ibn al-Aratt from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
حَدِيثُ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 21057
Narrated by Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was sitting in the shade of the Kaaba, leaning against his cloak. We pleaded, "O Messenger of Allah, please pray to Allah for us and seek His help." Upon hearing this, the face of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned red and he said, "Before you, people were punished for accepting this religion by having ditches dug for them, and then they would be placed in them with saws placed on their heads, and their heads would be split in two. But even this did not make them turn away from their religion. Similarly, iron combs were used to tear through their flesh and bones, but even this torture did not make them turn away from their religion. And Allah will surely complete this religion, to the point that a rider will travel between Sana'a and Hadramaut fearing nothing but Allah, or a wolf's attack on his sheep. But you people are impatient.”

حضرت خباب رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ ہم لوگ بارگاہ نبوت میں حاضر ہوئے نبی ﷺ اس وقت خانہ کعبہ کے سائے میں اپنی چادر سے ٹیک لگائے ہوئے بیٹھے تھے ہم نے عرض کیا یارسول اللہ اللہ سے ہماری لئے دعا کیجیے اور مدد مانگیے یہ سن کر نبی ﷺ کے روئے انور کا رنگ سرخ ہوگیا اور فرمایا کہ تم سے پہلے لوگوں کے لئے دین قبول کرنے کی پاداش میں گڑھے کھودے جاتے تھے اور آرے لے کر سر پر رکھے جاتے اور ان سے سر کو چیر دیا جاتا تھا لیکن یہ چیز بھی انہیں ان کے دین سے برگشہ نہیں کرتی تھی اس طرح لوہے کی کنگھیاں لے کر جسم کی ہڈیوں کے پیچھے گوشت پٹھوں میں گاڑھی جاتی تھیں لیکن یہ تکلیف بھی انہیں ان کے دین سے برگشتہ نہیں کرتی تھی اور اللہ اس دین کو پورا کرکے رہے گا یہاں تک کہ ایک سوار صنعاء اور حضرموت کے درمیان سفر کرے گا جس میں اسے صرف خوف اللہ ہوگا یا بکری پر بھیڑیے کے حملے کا لیکن تم لوگ جلدباز ہو۔
Hazrat Khabbab Raziallahu Anhu se marvi hai ki ek martaba hum log bargah e nabvi mein hazir hue Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) us waqt khana e kaaba ke saaye mein apni chadar se tek lagaye hue baithe thay hum ne arz kiya ya Rasul Allah Allah se hamari liye dua kijiye aur madad mangiye ye sun kar Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke ruye anwar ka rang surkh hogaya aur farmaya ki tum se pehle logon ke liye deen qubool karne ki padash mein garhe khode jatay thay aur aaray lekar sar par rakhe jatay thay aur un se sar ko cheer diya jata tha lekin ye cheez bhi unhen unke deen se bargashta nahi karti thi is tarah lohe ki kanghiyan lekar jism ki haddiyon ke peeche gosht patthon mein gadhi jati thin lekin ye takleef bhi unhen unke deen se bargashta nahi karti thi aur Allah is deen ko poora kar ke rahega yahan tak ki ek sawar Sanaa aur Hadramaut ke darmiyan safar karega jis mein use sirf khauf Allah hoga ya bakri par bhediye ke hamle ka lekin tum log jaldbaz ho.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ خَبَّابٍ ، قَالَ: أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي ظِلِّ الْكَعْبَةِ مُتَوَسِّدًا بُرْدَةً لَهُ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ لَنَا، وَاسْتَنْصِرْهُ، قَالَ: فَاحْمَرَّ لَوْنُهُ أَوْ تَغَيَّرَ، فَقَالَ:" لَقَدْ كَانَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ يُحْفَرُ لَهُ حُفْرَةٌ، وَيُجَاءُ بِالْمِنْشَارِ، فَيُوضَعُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَيُشَقُّ، مَا يَصْرِفُهُ عَنْ دِينِهِ، وَيُمْشَطُ بِأَمْشَاطِ الْحَدِيدِ مَا دُونَ عَظْمٍ مِنْ لَحْمٍ أَوْ عَصَبٍ، مَا يَصْرِفُهُ عَنْ دِينِهِ، وَلَيُتِمَّنَّ اللَّهُ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ حَتَّى يَسِيرَ الرَّاكِبُ مَا بَيْنَ صَنْعَاءَ إِلَى حَضْرَمَوْتَ، لَا يَخْشَى إِلَّا اللَّهَ، وَالذِّئْبَ عَلَى غَنَمِهِ، وَلَكِنَّكُمْ تَعْجَلُونَ" .
