Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22687
It is narrated on the authority of Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the meaning of "Bushra" was asked from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from this verse of Allah Almighty: "لهم البشری فی الحیاۃ الدنیا و فی الآخرۃ" (For them are glad tidings, in the life of this world and in the Hereafter). So the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: It means good dreams that a Muslim sees himself or another Muslim sees about him.

حضرت عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ سے اس ارشاد باری تعالیٰ " لہم البشری فی الحیاۃ الدنیاو فی الآخرہ " میں بشری کی تفسیر پوچھی تو نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا اس سے مراد اچھے خواب ہیں جو خود کوئی مسلمان دیکھے یا کوئی دوسرا مسلمان اس کے متعلق دیکھے۔
Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (رضي الله تعالى عنه) se marvi hai keh Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) se is irshad e bari tala "lahumul bushra fil hayatid dunya wa fil akhirati" mein bushra ki tafseer poochhi to Nabi Kareem (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne farmaya is se murad achhe khwab hain jo khud koi musalman dekhe ya koi dusra musalman uske mutalliq dekhe.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى:" لَهُمُ الْبُشْرَى فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ سورة يونس آية 64 , فَقَالَ: هِيَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ يَرَاهَا الْمُسْلِمُ أَوْ تُرَى لَهُ" .
