The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2283
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said: "The Surahs which you call 'Mufassalat' are actually 'Muhkamat'. At the time of the Prophet's, peace and blessings be upon him, passing, I was ten years old, and by then I had already memorized all the Muhkamat."

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ تم جن سورتوں کو مفصلات کہتے ہو، درحقیقت وہ محکمات ہیں، نبی ﷺ کے وصال کے وقت میری عمر دس سال تھی اور اس وقت تک میں ساری محکمات پڑھ چکا تھا۔
Sayyidna Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a farmate hain ki tum jin suraton ko mufassilat kehte ho, dar haqeeqat wo muhkamat hain, Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ke wisal ke waqt meri umr das saal thi aur us waqt tak main sari muhkamat parh chuka tha.
(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَال:" إِنَّ الَّذِي تَدْعُونَهُ الْمُفَصَّلَ هُوَ الْمُحْكَمُ، تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا ابْنُ عَشْرِ سِنِينَ، وَقَدْ قَرَأْتُ الْمُحْكَمَ".
