Hadith of Abu Malik Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him)
حَدِيثُ أَبِي مَالِكٍ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 22832
It is narrated on the authority of Sahal bin Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was with the people when a woman came to the court of the Prophet.... then the narrator mentioned the whole hadith and said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked her, "Do you know any Quran?" She said, "Yes! Such and such Surahs" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "I have given you in marriage to this man on the basis of these Surahs of the Holy Quran."

حضرت سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ میں لوگوں کے ساتھ تھا کہ ایک عورت بارگاہ نبوت میں حاضر ہوئی۔۔۔۔۔ پھر راوی نے پوری حدیث ذکر کی اور کہا نبی کریم ﷺ نے اس سے پوچھا کہ تمہیں قرآن بھی کچھ آتا ہے؟ اس نے کہا جی ہاں! فلاں فلاں سورت نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا میں نے اس عورت کے ساتھ تمہارا نکاح قرآن کریم کی ان سورتوں کی وجہ سے کردیا۔
Hazrat Sahl bin Saad Radi Allaho Anho se marvi hai ki aik martaba main logon ke sath tha ki aik aurat bargah e nabuat mein hazir hui phir ravi ne puri hadees zikar ki aur kaha Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne us se pucha ki tumhen Quran bhi kuch aata hai us ne kaha ji haan falan falan surat Nabi Kareem Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ne farmaya main ne is aurat ke sath tumhara nikah Quran e Kareem ki in suratoun ki waja se kar diya
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ , أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَ: " فَهَلْ تَقْرَأُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْئًا؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ , قَالَ: مَاذَا؟ قَالَ: سُورَةَ كَذَا، وَسُورَةَ كَذَا، وَسُورَةَ كَذَا قَالَ: فَقَدْ أَمْلَكْتُكَهَا بِمَا مَعَكَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ" , قَالَ: فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَمْضِي وَهِيَ تَتْبَعُهُ.
