ومن مسند بني هاشم
The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَا
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2317
And once the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent an expedition to Mu'tah and appointed Zayd ibn Harithah, may Allah be pleased with him, as its commander. In case of his martyrdom, he appointed Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, and in case of his martyrdom, he appointed Abdullah ibn Rawahah, may Allah be pleased with him. Ibn Rawahah stayed behind and joined the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in the Friday prayer. When the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw him, he said, "What prevented you from leaving with your companions in the morning?" He replied, "I thought I would pray Friday with you and then join them." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Going out for the sake of Allah for a morning or an evening is better than the world and all that is in it."

اور ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ نے موتہ کی طرف ایک سریہ بھیجا اور سیدنا زید بن حارثہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو اس کا امیر مقرر کیا، ان کے شہید ہو جانے کی صورت میں سیدنا جعفر رضی اللہ عنہ کو، اور ان کے شہید ہو جانے کی صورت میں سیدنا عبداللہ بن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو مقرر فرمایا، سیدنا ابن رواحہ رضی اللہ عنہ پیچھے رہ گئے اور نبی ﷺ کے ساتھ جمعہ کی نماز میں شریک ہوئے، جب نبی ﷺ نے انہیں دیکھا تو فرمایا کہ ”آپ کو اپنے ساتھیوں کے ساتھ صبح روانہ ہونے سے کس چیز نے روکا؟“ عرض کیا کہ میں نے سوچا آپ کے ساتھ جمعہ پڑھ کر ان سے جا ملوں گا، اس پر نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا: ”اللہ کے راستہ میں ایک صبح یا شام کا نکلنا دنیا و مافیہا سے بہتر ہے۔“
Aur aik martaba Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne Mota ki taraf aik sariya bheja aur Sayyiduna Zaid bin Haritha (RaziAllahu Anhu) ko iska ameer muqarrar kiya, unke shaheed ho jane ki soorat mein Sayyiduna Ja'far (RaziAllahu Anhu) ko, aur unke shaheed ho jane ki soorat mein Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Rawahah (RaziAllahu Anhu) ko muqarrar farmaya, Sayyiduna Ibn Rawahah (RaziAllahu Anhu) peeche reh gaye aur Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ke saath Jummah ki namaz mein sharik hue, jab Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne unhein dekha to farmaya ke "Aap ko apne saathiyon ke saath subah rawana hone se kis cheez ne roka?" Arz kiya ke maine socha aap ke saath Jummah parh kar unse ja milunga, is par Nabi ((صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)) ne farmaya: "Allah ke raaste mein aik subah ya sham ka nikalna duniya wa ma fiha se behtar hai."
(حديث موقوف) وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ إِلَى مُؤْتَةَ، فَاسْتَعْمَلَ زَيْدًا، فَإِنْ قُتِلَ زَيْدٌ، فَجَعْفَرٌ، فَإِنْ قُتِلَ جَعْفَرٌ، فَابْنُ رَوَاحَةَ، فَتَخَلَّفَ ابْنُ رَوَاحَةَ، فَجَمَّعَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَآهُ، فَقَالَ:" مَا خَلَّفَكَ؟" , قَالَ: أُجَمِّعُ مَعَكَ , قَالَ:" لَغَدْوَةٌ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ، خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا".
