Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25438
Aswad said that once Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "Narrate to me a hadith that Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated only to you, for she would narrate many things only to you and not in the presence of the common people." So I said to him that she narrated to me a hadith, the first part of which I remember, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Were it not that your people are close to the days of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic period of ignorance), I would have demolished the Ka'bah and rebuilt it with two doors level with the ground." And so, Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him), after he became the Caliph, did just that.

اسود کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ مجھ سے حضرت عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ مجھے کوئی حدیث سناؤ، جو ام المومنین حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے صرف تم سے ہی بیان کی ہو کیونکہ وہ بہت سی چیزیں صرف تم سے بیان کرتی تھیں اور عام لوگوں کے سامنے بیان نہیں کرتی تھیں، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ان سے عرض کیا کہ انہوں نے مجھ سے ایک حدیث بیان کی تھی جس کا پہلا حصہ مجھے یاد ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا اگر تمہاری قوم زمانہ جاہلیت کے قریب نہ ہوتی تو میں خانہ کعبہ کو شہید کرکے زمین کی سطح پر اس کے دو دروازے بنا دیتا، چنانچہ خلیفہ بننے کے بعد حضرت عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسی طرح کردیا تھا۔
Aswad kehte hain ke ek martaba mujh se Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne farmaya ke mujhe koi hadees sunao, jo Ummul Momineen Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) ne sirf tum se hi bayan ki ho kyunki woh bahut si cheezen sirf tum se bayan karti thin aur aam logon ke samne bayan nahin karti thin, woh kehte hain ke maine un se arz kiya ke unhon ne mujh se ek hadees bayan ki thi jis ka pehla hissa mujhe yaad hai ke Rasul Allah (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne irshad farmaya agar tumhari qaum zamana jahiliyat ke qareeb na hoti to main khana kaaba ko shaheed karke zameen ki satah par us ke do darwaze bana deta, chunancha khalifa banne ke baad Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ne isi tarah kar diya tha.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ لِلْأَسْوَدِ حَدِّثْنِي عَنْ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا فَإِنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُفْضِي إِلَيْكَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا: " لَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمَكِ حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ لَهَدَمْتُ الْكَعْبَةَ ثُمَّ لَجَعَلْتُ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ" . فَلَمَّا مَلَكَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ هَدَمَهَا، وَجَعَلَ لَهَا بَابَيْنِ.
