Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25501
It is narrated on the authority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that sometimes the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would be in the state of being in need of a bath (ghusl) in the morning, due to having engaged in marital relations, and then he would observe the fast.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ بعض اوقات نبی ﷺ صبح کے وقت اختیاری طوری پر وجوب غسل کی کیفیت میں ہوتے اور پھر روزہ بھی رکھ لیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Aisha razi Allah anha se marvi hai keh baaz auqat Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) subah ke waqt ikhtiyari tor par wujoob ghusl ki kefiyat mein hote aur phir roza bhi rakh lete thay.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" كَانَ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ، ثُمَّ يَصُومُ" .
