Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25558
It is narrated by Aisha Radi Allahu Anha that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not fast in any month of the year more than Shaban, that he used to fast almost the entire month of Shaban and would say: "Do as much good deeds as you can, for Allah will never get tired, although you will definitely get tired." And the most beloved prayer to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the one that was offered regularly, even if it was short in length, and whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) would offer a prayer, he would always offer it (consistently).

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ نبی ﷺ سال کے کسی مہنیے میں شعبان سے زیادہ روزے نہیں رکھتے تھے، کہ وہ تقریباً شعبان کا پورا مہینہ ہی روزہ رکھتے تھے اور فرماتے تھے کہ اتنا عمل کیا کرو کہ جتنی تم میں طاقت ہو، کیونکہ اللہ تو نہیں اکتائے گا، البتہ تم ضرور اکتا جاؤ گے اور نبی ﷺ کے نزدیک سب سے پسندیدہ وہ نماز ہوتی تھی جس پر دوام ہو سکے اگرچہ اس کی مقدار تھوڑی ہی ہو اور خود نبی ﷺ جب کوئی نماز پڑھتے تو اسے ہمیشہ پڑھتے تھے۔
Hazrat Ayesha Radi Allaho Anha se marvi hai ki Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam saal ke kisi mahine me Shaban se zyada roze nahi rakhte thy, ki woh taqreeban Shaban ka poora mahina hi roze rakhte thy aur farmate thy ki itna amal kia karo ki jitni tum me taqat ho, kyunki Allah to nahi uktaye ga, albatta tum zaroor ukta jao gy aur Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam ke nazdeek sab se pasandida woh namaz hoti thi jis par dawam ho sake agarche iski miqdar thori hi ho aur khud Nabi Sallallaho Alaihi Wasallam jab koi namaz parhte to ise hamesha parhte thy.
حَدَّثَنِا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صَوْمِهِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ كُلَّهُ، وَكَانَ يَقُولُ: " خُذُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا" . وَإِنَّهُ كَانَ " أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا دُووِمَ عَلَيْهَا وَكَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا" .
