Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 25691
It is narrated on the authority of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) offering Chasht prayer except when he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would return from a journey, he would offer two rak'ahs.

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو چاشت کی نماز پڑھتے ہوئے کبھی نہیں دیکھا، الاّ یہ کہ نبی ﷺ کسی سفر سے واپس آئے ہوں تو دو رکعتیں پڑھ لیتے تھے۔
Hazrat Ayesha ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) ا) se marvi hai keh maine Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ko chaasht ki namaz parhte huye kabhi nahi dekha, illa yeh keh Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) kisi safar se wapas aaye hon to do rakaten parh lete thay.
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى؟ قَالَتْ: " لَا، إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِيءَ مِنْ مَغِيبِهِ" .
