Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26215
Narrated by Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she asked in the court of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Prophet of Allah! Tell me, if I find the Night of Decree, what should I pray for?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "You should pray, 'O Allah! You are the Forgiving, You love to forgive, so forgive me too.'"

حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ انہوں نے بارگاہ رسالت میں عرض کیا اے اللہ کے نبی! یہ بتائیے کہ اگر مجھے شب قدر حاصل ہوجائے تو میں اس میں کیا دعا مانگوں؟ نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا تم یہ دعا مانگا کرو کہ اے اللہ! تو خوب معاف کرنے والا ہے، معاف کرنے کو پسند بھی کرتا ہے، لہذا مجھے بھی معاف فرما دے۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْأَشْجَعِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ , عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ , مَا أَقُولُ فِيهَا؟ قَالَ: " قُولِي: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ" .
