Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 26653
It is narrated on the authority of Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that I never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) fasting for two consecutive months except that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to join the fasts of Sha'ban with the fasts of Ramadan.

حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ میں نے نبی ﷺ کو دو ماہ کے مسلسل روزے رکھتے ہوئے کبھی نہیں دیکھا، البتہ نبی ﷺ ماہ شعبان کو رمضان کے روزے سے ملادیتے تھے۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ تَوْبَةَ الْعَنْبَريَّ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ: " لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ مِنَ السَّنَةِ شَهْرًا تَامًّا يُعْلَمُ إِلَّا شَعْبَانَ، يَصِلُ بِهِ رَمَضَانَ" .
