The Musnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them both)

Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal 2722
It is narrated on the authority of Sayyidina Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in the house of one of his honorable wives. After a while, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) rested his head and went to sleep. During his sleep, he began to smile. When he woke up, one of his honorable wives asked, "You were smiling in your sleep, was there some good news?" He said, "I was feeling happy for those people of my Ummah who have set out on a sea voyage to confront the enemy. They are striving in the way of Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) then mentioned great rewards for them.

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ ایک مرتبہ نبی ﷺ اپنی کسی زوجہ محترمہ کے گھر میں تھے، تھوڑی دیر بعد آپ ﷺ سر رکھ کر سو گئے، نیند کے دوران آپ ﷺ ہنسنے لگے، جب بیدار ہوئے تو کسی زوجہ محترمہ نے پوچھا کہ آپ سوتے ہوئے ہنس رہے تھے، خیر تو تھی؟ فرمایا: ”مجھے اپنی امت کے ان لوگوں پر خوشی محسوس ہو رہی تھی جو سمندری سفر پر دشمن کو ڈرانے کے لئے نکلے ہیں، وہ اللہ کے راستے میں جہاد کر رہے ہیں۔“ نبی ﷺ نے ان کے لئے بڑی خیر کا ذکر فرمایا۔
Sayyida Ibn Abbas ( (رضي الله تعالى عنه) a se marvi hai ki aik martaba Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) apni kisi zojain muhtarima ke ghar mein thay, thori dair baad Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) sar rakh kar so gaye, neend ke doran Aap (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) hansne lage, jab bedar huye to kisi zojain muhtarima ne poocha ki Aap sote huye hans rahe thay, khair to thi? Farmaya: "Mujhe apni ummat ke un logon par khushi mehsoos ho rahi thi jo samundari safar par dushman ko darane ke liye nikle hain, woh Allah ke raste mein jihad kar rahe hain." Nabi (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) ne un ke liye badi khair ka zikar farmaya.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ هو بن عيسى ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ: بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَيْتِ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ، إِذْ وَضَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَنَامَ، فَضَحِكَ فِي مَنَامِهِ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ، قَالَتْ لَهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ: لَقَدْ ضَحِكْتَ فِي مَنَامِكَ، فَمَا أَضْحَكَكَ؟ قَالَ:" أَعْجَبُ مِنْ نَاسٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَرْكَبُونَ هَذَا الْبَحْرَ هَوْلَ الْعَدُوِّ، يُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ" , فَذَكَرَ لَهُمْ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا.
